Optimization and Coordination of Electric Vehicle Charging Process for Long-Distance Trips

Battery electric vehicles offer many advantages in terms of performance and zero-emission pollutants, but their limited range for long-distance trips compromises large-scale market penetration. The problem can be solved with a dense network fast-charging stations an increase embedded battery capacity. Simultaneously, improvements high-power charging point units gains hundreds kilometers mere 20 min. One risk remains: travel time depends on the availability stations, which drop during rush hours, due to long queues, or power grid constraints. These situations could significantly affect user experience. In this paper, we presented approach coordinate EV station choices case trips. This system relies vehicle-to-infrastructure communications (V2X). objective is enhance use infrastructure by improving distribution between different thus reducing waiting time. Our target build efficient easily deployable system. compared uncoordinated situation offline optimization. We conducted study 550-km highway heavy traffic. With system, results showed 10% reduction spent stations.
